Introducing Snap Maps - Snapchat's new location sharing feature
This location-based map allows users to see where their Snapchat contacts are in the country, along with location-based photos and videos. Snap Map shows a user's girlfriend's Bitmoji (the cartoon avatar on Snapchat) on a world map. Users can zoom in on the map to see their friends' exact locations.
How to access Snap Map
To access her Snap Map in the latest update of the Snapchat app, users have to go to her Snapchat camera screen and use two fingers to zoom out. This will launch the snapchat video downloader screen and allow the user to see their friend's location.
Choose who can see your location
It's important to be careful with who you share your location with because other people can see where you live, where you go to school, and where you spend your time.
Given that this new feature is unique to Snapchat (showing your exact location on a map), we advise against sharing your location, especially with people you don't know personally. .
There are three settings for her to share her location on the map: Ghost Mode, My Friends, and Select Friends. But what do these settings mean?
Ghost mode
Ghost mode means that only you can see your location on the map. In ghost mode, you can still see your friends' locations, but they can't see you. This setting gives you complete control over who knows your location.
A friend of mine
My Friends means all your Snapchat contacts can see your location. If you enable this setting, it is important that the user sees her Snapchat contacts and does not add people to her Snapchat that they do not personally know.
Choose a friend
This setting allows users to browse their friends list to determine which friends can see their location. This setting allows users to control who can see their location.
Change settings
When the Snap Map is first opened, users can decide who can see their location. Once these settings are made, you can change them at any time in your Snapchat settings. There are two ways to do this:
Snapchat settings
From the Snapchat screen, click the Settings icon (gear), click Show My Location, and select the appropriate setting.
On the snap map
Click the settings button on the top right of the card > choose the settings that suit you
